What did you do this past week?

This past week I don’t think I did anything related to classes at all besides going to them. Most of my time was spent watching Youtube and wasting my time, but I also participated in Jane Street’s estimatathon and the UT vs Georgia Tech Terminal Live competition. This weekend I went hiking with my family and had a cooking competition with my sister.

What’s in your way?

Right now nothing really is in my way. I have a couple of midterms this coming week I think so I’m not really looking forward to those, but I have a feeling that everything will be alright.

What will you do next week?

Next week I will be taking midterms for this class and Artificial Intelligence and studying for those will probably take up most of my time. Aside from that I also have projects to work on for neural networks and this class so it should be a pretty busy week.

If you read it, what did you think of The Open-Closed Principle?

I thoroughly enjoyed the parts of the Open-Closed Principle that I read. This is a topic that I have been lectured on a lot and something I am definitely trying to think about more when working on a long term project.

What was your experience of iterators, generators, and yield? (this question will vary, week to week)

I actually haven’t had too much experience with iterators, generators, or yield other than knowing what each of them was and seeing them occasionally used in code. The lessons this week definitely solidified my understanding of them and cleared up any questions I had.

What made you happy this week?

Doing absolutely nothing made me pretty happy this week. It was nice to kind of take a break from things, and this semester has been so much less exhausting than my previous ones.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is Gordon Ramsay’s sticky rib recipe. Tried it this weekend and it was pretty amazing.
